Pain Is Temporary.Quitting Lasts Forever. - Lance Armstrong
Ah, yes it is true the first thing I thought of when I saw this quote was the workout that Jeff had for us today. My 15lb. dumbbells felt like 100 lbs. It was painful and I am sure I will think that even more so tomorrow when I can't lift my arms because my triceps will be paralyzed with pain. But I won't quit, I will go to camp tomorrow and continue.
There are so many times in life where we feel the 'pain' and in the midst of the pain we have the choice to quit anytime. I have never been a quitter, but one thing I have come to realize over the past few years, once I took a look at myself from an outside perspective, I was never a quitter when it came to everyone and everthing else I took on everything, I did for friends, employers, family members, co-workers, I was a regular hero but when it came to doing things for myself very basic things like eating properly, exercising, taking a few minutes to relax, I quit those things right away. Because they got in the way of me taking care of everyone else.
Thanks to some very much needed and well deserved time with our life coach Selwa Hamati I learned that taking care of me is number one. If I don't take care of me and I allow my health or spirit to fail then how on earth will I run everyone else's life? It is called self care.
Your nutrition, your exercise and your self care are number one priority. And sometimes it gets painful, 1.) because it is actually painful sometimes 2.) because it gets in the way of the things that we have to do for other people. BUT don't quit, take care of yourself today and every morning when you wake up just say I am going to take care of myself today! Life is tricky and it will try to throw you off some days but just get right back to taking care of you.
By the way I figured it out. If you workout for 60 minutes per day, take 5 minutes per meal to journal, and an extra unheard of 30 minutes just relaxing or stretching or foam rolling per day you are only using up 8% of the total time in one day.
Those other people will just have to settle for 92% of your time
Take very good care of yourself today-
Tiffany
